The Jiangsu Provincial Government State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission reported that the Jiangsu Port Group will be formally established in the near future. Prior to this, the layout plan for coastal ports along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province has been released, and the five major ports and five major regional ports that will be developed in the next 13 years will be pointed out.
On May 12, the Jiangsu Provincial Government's official website announced the “Jiangsu Province Coastal Ports along the Yangtze River (2015-2030)” (hereinafter referred to as “the “Planning”), or may be regarded as the weather vane of the planning and layout of the Jiangsu Port Group in the future.
The Plan clearly states that from 2015 to 2030, Jiangsu Province will adopt a hierarchical port layout plan.
The main ports are: Lianyungang Port, Nanjing Port, Zhenjiang Port, Suzhou Port, Nantong Port
Regional important ports are: Yangzhou Port, Wuxi (Jiangyin) Port, Taizhou Port, Changzhou Port, Yancheng Port
Future positioning and division of the top ten ports
The "Planning" is also very clear about the division of labor among the above-mentioned top ten ports.
1. Lianyungang Port Positioning:
China-Kazakhstan logistics transit base, SCO member countries' seaport, East-West cooperation demonstration zone and regional international hub port.
Division of labor:
In terms of container transportation, Lianyungang Port will become the main port of container transportation along the main port of container transportation along the Longhai line;
In terms of importing iron ore from foreign trade, Lianyungang Port will be an important port for importing iron ore along the Bohai Sea line, and will be equipped with special ore loading docks of over 200,000 tons;
In terms of the layout of LNG, Lianyungang Port will become one of the main ports to transport LNG to the Yangtze River Delta through pipelines and tank trucks.
2. Nanjing Port Location:
Regional shipping logistics center.
Division of labor:
In terms of container transportation, Nanjing Port, as a feeder port, will focus on the development of near-ocean and domestic trade container transportation;
In terms of importing iron ore from foreign trade, Nanjing Port will mainly be the docking and unloading terminal for engineering ships, and the ore docks with a capacity of 70,000 tons or less will be laid;
In terms of coal transportation, Nanjing Port will mainly focus on berths of 70,000 tons and below;
In terms of commodity automobile logistics and transportation, Nanjing Port will deploy commodity car terminals and radiate surrounding distribution networks.
3. Zhenjiang Port Location:
Around the development of Jianghai River intermodal transport.
Division of labor:
In terms of importing iron ore from foreign trade, it has the same function as Nanjing Port;
In terms of coal transportation, Zhenjiang Port will arrange professional loading and unloading terminals to serve coal transit transportation in Jiangsu Province and the Yangtze River in the Yangtze River, and lay a berth of 70,000 tons and below.
4, Suzhou Port positioning:
The Taicang Port Area is positioned as an “important component of the Shanghai International Shipping Center” and undertakes the transit service of bulk bulk cargo Haijin River in the Yangtze River Delta.
Division of labor:
In terms of container transportation, Suzhou Port will become the existing container port, and Taicang Port will be the key development target, with foreign trade container trunks and domestic trade as the mainstay;
In terms of import of iron ore from foreign trade, Taicang Port will be equipped with a special loading dock for 200,000-ton-class ore-removing ore vessels, and a port of 100,000-ton or more ore at Zhangjiagang Port Area will be installed. Transport ship
In terms of coal transportation, Suzhou Port will deploy a special transfer dock, and deploy a 15-200,000-ton load-reducing berth.
5. Nantong Port Location:
It will further strengthen the integration of the port area and deepen the integration reform.

In terms of import of iron ore for foreign trade, Nantong Port will lay a special loading dock for the 200,000-ton-class ore-removing ore vessel;
In terms of coal transportation, Nantong Port will deploy a special loading and unloading terminal, and deploy a 15-200,000-ton load-reducing berth;
In terms of LNG layout, Nantong Port will become one of the major ports.
6. Yangzhou Port Positioning:
It will also speed up the integration of port resources to serve the port industry and transit transportation in the hinterland.
Division of labor:
In terms of crude oil transportation, Yangzhou Port will retain part of the Haijinjiang crude oil transfer function as a pipe-water transfer port;
In terms of the transportation of commercial vehicles, Yangzhou Port will be equipped with a commercial vehicle terminal.
7, Wuxi (Jiangyin) port positioning:
It will focus on the development of Jianghai River intermodal transportation and service port industry.
Division of labor:
In the future, we will combine the development needs of the tourism industry, timely transform and build new professional cruise berths.
8. Taizhou Port Positioning:
It will focus on the service of the port industry and the economic and social development of the Central Jiangsu region.
Division of labor:
In terms of import of iron ore from foreign trade, Taizhou Port will deploy ore docks of 100,000 tons and above, and unload and unload 100,000 tons of direct sea transportation vessels;
In terms of coal transportation, Taizhou Port will deploy a special transfer dock and arrange a 100,000-ton berth.
9, Changzhou Port positioning
Division of labor: It will mainly serve the transportation of production and living materials in Changzhou, and strengthen cooperation and resource integration with Wuxi (Jiangyin) Port and Zhenjiang Port.
10. Location of Yancheng Port:
It will be based on the service port industry.
Division of labor: In terms of coal transportation, Yancheng Port will be mainly based on direct transportation. According to the demand, it will be equipped with professional berths of 5-15 thousand tons. In terms of liquefied natural gas layout, Yancheng Port will become one of the main ports.

The "Plan" shows that in the next 13 years, the ports along the Yangtze River and coastal ports will have different development directions.

General overview:
The port along the Yangtze River will be based on resource integration, transformation and upgrading, optimization and development, and upgrading of modernization.

It will promote Nanjing Port Longtan and Xiba Port Area, Zhenjiang Port Dagang Port Area, Yangzhou Port Yangzhou Port Area, Taizhou Port Gaogang Port Area, Wuxi (Jiangyin) Port Shenxia Port Area, Changzhou Port Recording Anzhou Port Area, Nantong Port 9 key port areas such as Tonghai District and Suzhou Port Taicang Port Area are developing.
Coastal port
General overview:
The coastal ports will promote infrastructure construction, drive the scale of the port industry, focus on scale and intensification, and further highlight the development priorities.
in particular:
It will promote the development of four key port areas including Lianyungang Port, Lianyungang District, Xujing Port Area, Yancheng Port Dafeng Port Area and Nantong Port Tongzhou Bay Port Area.
