CMA CGM said that the service will replace the previous CIMEX 2E route. The last voyage will be undertaken by the Sima Genesis, which is operated by the space lease agreement. It is expected to arrive at Busan Port in South Korea on January 14 and arrive in Shanghai, China on January 17, 2017.
The new CIMEX 2E route will be linked to the following ports: Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore, Klang, Chennai, Klang, Singapore, Manila and Busan.
The direction of the new service is linked to the port of Manila. In addition, the voyages from Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai to Chennai are 17 days, 15 days and 13 days respectively.
The Baltimore Bridge, owned by the Kawasaki Steamship, will debut on the new CIMEX 2E route, which arrived in Busan Port on December 15.
In addition, the vessel will also deploy five container ships with a capacity of 4500 TEU and 4900 TEU, of which DFI provides 4 of them and Kawasaki Motorship provides one.
Korea Shipping launches two trans-Pacific routes next year
After successfully acquiring the assets of Hanjin Shipping Asia-US route for US$31.4 million, South Korea's Korea Line plans to launch two trans-Pacific service services in April next year, connecting China, South Korea and the US West Coast ports.
One of the routes will deploy five 4200TEU container ships, which will be anchored in Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Busan, Gwangyang and Ningbo. On another route, five 6,500 TEU container ships will be deployed, which will be linked to Xiamen, Shekou, Yantian, Busan, Long Beach, Busan and Xiamen. However, both routes may be further modified.
It is reported that in addition to launching the trans-Pacific route, Korea Shipping plans to launch several Asian routes next year, and the new route will focus on services from South Korea to West India and Southeast Asia.
