In the next four years, the ship's capacity will be jointly deployed to improve the service quality of the route.
The four shipping companies plan to jointly deploy shipping capacity in the Sea of Japan region, and will provide services in the ports of Akita, Sakata, Niigata, Naojinjin and Toyama in Japan, as well as the opening of two South Korea-Japan routes to cope with the delayed operation of winter routes. The impact of decline, imbalance between supply and demand.
The newly opened route will be rotated:
The port of call for route 1 is: Busan, Busan New Port, Niigata, Sakata, Akita, Busan.
The port of call for Route 2 is: Busan, Busan New Port, Zhijiangjin, Toyama, Niigata, Busan.
The contract period for the joint deployment of ship capacity by the four shipping companies is 4 years, and the four shipping companies change the operation rights of the routes every six months. Since April, Korea Shipping has been operating the Niigata, Sakata, and Akita routes, and has been operating the 966TEU "CONTSHIP QUO". Subsequently, Xingya Shipping, Changjin Merchant Marine and Southern Star Shipping will operate in sequence. Nanxing Shipping will invest in the 962TEU "STAR APEX" vessel, and will first operate another direct line of Zhijinjin, Toyama and Niigata. Subsequently, Changjin Merchant Marine, Korea Shipping and Xingya Shipping will operate in sequence.
Koryo Shipping, Xingya Shipping, Changjin Merchant Marine, and Nanxing Shipping will provide services to local ports in Japan, which will greatly increase the market share of Korean shipping companies on Japan and South Korea routes.
Affected by the bankruptcy of Hanjin Shipping last year, the move by four Korean shipping companies to seize market share between Korea and Japan has attracted attention. In March, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Xingya Shipping and Changjin Merchant Marine are also negotiating to promote joint contracts for Asian routes including Japan.
